Privacy Policy
Overview
Clean Express does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers. The app runs entirely on your device. Your Usenet activity, server credentials, and content remain private and under your control.
Data Storage
All data created by Clean Express is stored locally on your device:
- Server credentials are stored in the system Keychain, protected by your device passcode or biometrics.
- Group subscriptions, article headers, cached content, and drafts are kept in a local SQLite database.
- Downloaded attachments are saved to locations you choose.
No data is synced to Cleanbit servers or any third-party cloud service.
Network Communication
Clean Express communicates only with NNTP servers that you explicitly configure. The app does not contact any other remote endpoints for analytics, advertising, or tracking purposes.
- Connections use the protocol and security mode you select (Plaintext, STARTTLS, or SSL/TLS).
- No data is sent to Cleanbit or any third party as part of normal app operation.
Crash Reporting
Clean Express uses Sentry for crash reporting and diagnostics. When the app encounters an unrecoverable error, a crash report may be sent automatically. These reports contain:
- Device model, OS version, and app version.
- Stack traces and error metadata.
- No personally identifiable information, article content, credentials, or server addresses.
Crash data is processed by Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.) under their privacy policy. This data is used solely to identify and fix bugs.
Children
Clean Express is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. Since the app collects no personal data, there is no applicable data to delete.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
